以經典Lotus 7賽車型態量產跑車的英國車廠Caterham日前現身EICMA米蘭國際車展，在這個以摩托車為主的年度大展中要展出Caterham跑車，其實並無不妥，但日前在展區中讓人更為驚訝的，Caterham在EICMA首演了三款Caterham Bikes二輪概念車，可是Caterham集團的創舉。

Caterham集團全新成立了Caterham Bikes部門，首波三款作品包含了一輛頗有當年Yamaha TW200風格的Brutus 750街車，以及兩款電動腳踏車Classic E-Bike 與Carbon E-Bike；在概念型態的三款車型目前僅有相當有限的資訊，除了結合品牌向來強調的輕量化與駕馭樂趣之外，Caterham也確定了三款產品都將走平價路線，預計第一款投入量產的是Brutus 750街車，在明年第一季開始，另外兩款電動腳踏車也將在年底前跟進，其中Classic E-Bike是強調復古腳踏車的造型搭配先進的電動馬達技術，而Carbon E-Bike則是強調Caterham在F1賽車工程中累積的碳纖維技術。

根據Caterham集團表示，Caterham Bikes部門的加入，讓集團陣容更為完整，包含三支賽車工程團隊Caterham F1 Team、Caterham Racing (GP2)與新成立的Caterham Moto Racing，後勤的研發單位 Caterham Technology & Innovation、Caterham Composites，當然還有負責市售跑車的Caterham Cars，將使操控為上的品牌精神更為廣泛的宣達給所有支持經典品牌的消費者。

而未來Caterham Bikes未來也將持續關注全球對於環保、多功用的二輪車需求，除了歐美之外，針對亞洲的潛能也將透過新的摩托車產品來開發。
