高雄市茄萣區有7名華德工家新生25日午休時間請假外出到二仁溪出海口戲水，有5名下水學生不幸被大浪捲走，其中2名學生被尋獲時經急救仍回天乏術，另3名學生仍不見蹤影。
據了解，7名華德工家新生都來自台南，因為離家遠所以日前搬入宿舍住校，趁暑假結束前結伴相約戲水，卻不幸被大浪捲走，造成5名學生落海。
2名未下水的學生表示，5名同學比賽游向海中一處寶麗龍浮標再游回岸邊，其中3名手拉手先下水卻被突來大浪捲走，後面2名學生見狀欲伸手救援，卻也跟著被大浪吞噬，突如其來的意外嚇得岸上2名沒下水的學生趕緊求救。
其中馮世榮、李昱橖最早被尋獲，被救起時已無心跳呼吸，送醫急救後仍不治。據了解，馮世榮來自單親家庭，懷抱美髮夢的他家庭經濟狀況不佳，全靠馮母餐廳打工維生；李昱橖也同樣來自單親家庭，李母因車禍過世後，由李父身兼母職照顧家中3個小孩，日前才打電話百般叮嚀兒子農曆七月不要到海邊玩水，尤其是中元節前後，但兒子卻沒聽話，導致憾事發生。
南巡局岸巡第五二大隊大隊長陳穎明表示，二仁溪出海口風景漂亮，常有民眾來觀賞夕陽，但這一帶禁止戲水，卻常有人忽略禁止下水告示牌。
茄萣居民陳茂生表示，附近居民常來海濱散步，但就算戲水也不敢走的太深，因為這邊的水深，溺水意外頻傳，相當危險。
