對 Samsung 來說，除了智慧型手機領域的專利紛爭外，其在顯示技術方面惹上的麻煩也不少。為了在日後能夠更好地解決這方面的問題，他們便想出了開辦專利公司的辦法。據 The Korea Times 報導稱，早在三月的時候 Samsung 就低調地在美國開設了一家名為 Intellectual Keystone Technology 的專利公司，希望透過此舉來進行 OLED 及 LCD 專利的「交易和開發」。

Samsung 的發言人表示他們開設這家公司的目的是為了讓創新之路變得更為順暢，但同時他也直言希望「透過加強專利相關業務的方式來保護自己的知識產權」。在公司開業後的這段時間內，Intellectual Keystone Technology 已經成功從 Seiko Epson 手中購入了部分顯示技術專利。對 Samsung 來說，這樣未雨綢繆的做法也未嘗不是一個好主意呢。
