水獺家族的保護欲極強，就連睡覺、吃飯與玩耍的時候，都會情不自禁地手牽手，以免它們被水衝走。近日，62歲攝影師約翰·瓦格斯(John Vargas)用鏡頭捕捉到了一對水獺夫妻手牽手入眠的場景，可謂溫馨十足。

據人民網引述英國《每日郵報》9月16日報導稱，照片中的主角『內爾』(Nellie)和『阿布拉』(Abra)來自華盛頓Point Defiance動物園，這倆小家伙在一上午的嬉戲玩耍後，中午時分便打算美美地補個午覺。約翰說，它倆手拉手，閉著眼睛好像在休息。它們在湖水上又慢又穩地漂浮著，十分招人喜歡。

水獺是動物王國皮毛最厚實的領軍者，差不多一平方英寸(約6.5平方公分)的皮膚上就有100萬根毛髮。正因如此，北海的水獺曾在20世紀處瀕臨滅絕，因為人們想獲得它們那又厚又防水的軟毛。1989年，一次油輪洩漏事件又再次奪去近5000只水獺的生命。不過如今，受多種法律文件的保護，在美國阿拉斯加、阿留申群島以及華盛頓都能看到大量的水獺。
